The Return is a narrative adventure game on iPad, following the story of Juliet on a soul searching bicycle journey in Downtown Los Angeles, after a recent layoff. The project was a one year thesis project lead by USC grad student Sanghee Oh, finished in Spring 2013. We created the game using Unity (C#); exporting to iOS.
My role on the project was as a programmer. I worked with both the designers and programmers on the project and created methods and objects that were easy to use by both groups. I created the dialog system for the game, which includes triggered events and gui. The end result was the player interacting with the people around her and reading dialog when triggered in-game. After creating the dialog system, I implemented it in a ready-made level with both story and racing elements.
